Reid Rams $2.5 Trillion Government-Run Health Care Plan Through U.S. Senate

21 November 2009 827 views 12 Comments

National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) spokesman Brian Walsh issued the following statement in response to the motion to proceed with a vote on Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s (D-NV) government-run health care plan:

“Harry Reid owns this $2.5 trillion government-run health care bill, which is paid for with massive tax hikes on American families and small businesses as well as cuts to Medicare for seniors, and will cost state governments tens of millions of dollars in new unfunded mandates.

“Instead of putting his constituents first, Reid decided it was more important to pander to the left wing of his party and crafted this costly government takeover of America’s health care system behind closed doors.

“Unfortunately for Nevadans, Reid completely ignored the increasing unemployment rate in Nevada, the growing national deficit, and the Democrats’ stimulus debacle when he rammed this legislation through the U.S. Senate.

“There’s no doubt that this legislation will be a critical issue for Harry Reid as he embarks on his uphill re-election battle, and the people of Nevada will have an opportunity to hold him accountable when they cast their ballots next November.”

This taking over of America and ignoring the Constitution is breaking my heart.
I will support a non corrupt reverse take over in taking our country back.
The lack of troop support to this Socialistic agenda needs to be stopped and now.
Harry Reid and his goonies can’t even balance the books now and are doing damage to the American dollar, to which we will never recover.

It is interesting that gov’t officials will be exempt from this health plan because their coverage is GREAT! If their plan is so great, why didn’t they just make that available for everyone instead of spending all this time on a bill that is not equal across all state lines.

This point further validates my distrust of gov’t.
What is very frustrating is that I REALLY don’t have a voice!

I feel soooooooooo helpless that if I really want to focus on this I want to cry!

Didn’t obama promise that the government would be more transparent and open. Then why in the hell did reid put this damned health care bill together behind closed and locked doors. One big communist state went by the wayside, and now there is another one ( what used to be was the United States of America). I hope that all you stupid lying democrats are happy now. Oh yes hiel hitler, and all of his henchmen. You will be remembered at the next election, if the government lets us have another one.

Oh yes how do you stupid people that voted for obalama, like all the changes that we are getting. Thanks to you people that voted for him, we are now a socialist state. 2 trillion dollar health care government run health care system Of course you stupid people know that the health care systems in Canada and Great Britain isn’t working. Oh yes how about the unemployment is better under the present administration is wonderful also, putting more taxes on us is good too. Thank you for this too you stupid democrats.

We stopped the Immigration Bill after it had 64 votes in the Senate and we can stop this plan also, but we need to speak out. Although we all feel like our elected officials don’t listen to us or care what we want if we make our voices herd in sufficient numbers they do respond. Let you elected officials know “WE’LL REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER”

I have always been proud of our Country. The way things are being handled now its a different story. I don’t have a job because I had Cancer so I am on Cobra insurance but I know what I have and I can use the doctor I want to use. Its also not fair that the goverment not have to use the insurance they want to pass. What makes them different? They are people like us and they make decisions to help them not the people that need the help. It will cost the government more money, we already have a huge debt. Think twice before you vote to put this plan through.

Tough to speak out, when our reps like Sen Reid keep their phone off the hook. I think he might be very surprised when we FIRE him next year! We must keep up the pressure and get everyone we know OUT TO VOTE in 2010!!!

I think, not sure, Congressmen(women) & Senators get health insurance if they serve 2 consecutive terms. Therefore join the NRA-never re-elect anybody.
